A red candle Piece of red or pink paper Red Ink pen or Doves Blood Ink Light the Red candle. On the paper write your full name. Under your name write the person's name you are attracted to, their birthday then your own. Draw a heart around the information then write the names and birthdays again directly on top of the heart. Do this 3 times. Don't worry if it looks like scribble. Fold the paper small and burn it in the flame of the candle. As it burns say... "Light the flame bright, the fire Red is the colour of desire. " Repeat 3 times. This must be done each night for 9 consecutive nights.

It all starts with two red candles and a small piece of chocolate. Light the candles and eat the chocolate just before reciting this verse:

Now, a love spell is not to MAKE someone love you. Witches believe that that sort of manipulation of a person is wrong. Love spells are done to show you your future mate in a premonition, or to draw the right love to you, of their own free will- basically giving Mr. Or Mrs. Right a gentle push in the right direction.

Read the spell over, gather the ingredients listed, then at night before you go to sleep, recite the spell and perform the actions as you recite them:

Of violets and Lavender, take each a few, Enclose them with Myrtle of dark green hue. Make them in a posy, small and round and bright, May you see your true love in your dreams tonight.

You will need:
7 pink candles
7 sheets of parchment
red pen

Fire of Love Oil:
3 drops of jasmine
2 drops of rose geranium
1 drop of orange
3 pinches of cayenne pepper
1 pinch black pepper

Attraction powder:
1 tspn dragon's blood powder
1 tspn allspice
1 tspn almond meal

On Friday night - the night of Venus, write a letter of passion in red pen on the parchment. (Write all the things you would like to do with your lover in a spicier relationship!)

Anoint the candle with some oil and light, standing it on the letter. Sprinkle powder around the base of the candle in a sunwise (anticlockwise) direction as you call your lover's name seven times and then blow 7 kisses to the candle and say: "Mystic be the number seven which summons passion, love and heaven This letter of lust and love I send to the ethers above Bind to me spice and fun So is my desire, so it be done."

Leave the candle burning throughout the night. In the morning fold the letter with the powder and stub of candle within and keep in a box.

Repeat each night with a new candle and letter and by the following Friday - woo hoo! watch out!

An altar is a place of power - your personal power - where you can make magic. It should be an expression of your deepest self, filled with artifacts that hold personal resonance. Allow your altar to be a work-in-progress that changes with the seasons and reflects your inner cycles.

To create your altar, find a small table and drape it in richly colored, luxurious fabrics - perhaps red satin or a burgundy velvet scarf. Take one red and one pink candle and arrange them around a sweet-smelling incense such as amber, rose or jasmine. Decorate your altar with tokens that represent love to you: a heart-shaped chunk of ruby glass, potpourri made with rose and amethyst, a photo of your lover.

Fridays are the time for spelling love, right before dawn. Before you light your candles, anoint them with oil of jasmine or rose. Scent your wrists, your throat and the skin over your heart with the same oil you used on the candle.

If you desire sexual results, gaze into the flame of the red candle. If your desire is affection of flirtation, look into the pink candle instead. This simple spell, said aloud, will create loving magic:

Small Pink Candle & Holder
Paper & Pen

Something Sharp to Carve into the Candle With (a piece of rose quartz would be perfect)

Rose Oil or a Floral Oil that you are attracted to (nothing with alcohol in it!)

Ashtray or some safe container to put burning things into

The Spell:
Start by carving your name into the candle. If you have a craft name, use that.

Light the candle and as it burns run a warm bath for yourself. Add some rose petals to the bath. Lay back and relax in the tub and focus on what you consider to be your most wonderful aspects... beauty, intelligence, creativity, all the positive things about yourself and feel good about yourself.

As you begin to feel love call Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Venus, Goddess of Beauty to help you. Feel their warmth.

After you leave the water and dry yourself, leave your clothes off or wear a loose fitting garment so that you can feel the air and energy on your skin.

On the paper write a list of the things that you desire in a mate, if you have a specific person in mind then write down the qualities that draw you to that person. Don't write their name on the paper, there's no need for that and that controlling energy will break the positive energy of the spell. It's perfectly fine to visualize that person if that helps you to focus your energy on love and if that person is right for you, it will help draw them to you, if they're not, your energy will draw the person who is. Take your time with this and really focus on what you're writing, dream.

When you're done annoint it with the rose oil or whatever oil you've chosen for this purpose. Just dab a little on each aspect you wish for in the person and focus on each one as you do this. With your finger draw a circle around the paper and your writing. While making the circle call on Venus and Aphrodite to help you in finding such a person, dwell on each aspect and visualize what you want with good intent in your heart. Breathe deeply and feel the love from the goddesses wrap you. This can be quite intense and if you feel the desire to pleasure yourself during this period, it can only add to the intensity of energy.

When you feel your energy is drawn and would like to end the ritual, touch a corner of your paper to the candle flame and let it burn itself out in the container you have prepared. As the paper burns give thanks to Aprodite and Venus for their help and say out loud "An it harm none, so mote it be". Allow the candle to burn until it burns itself out. If you need to leave it while it burns, leave it in the sink or bathtub with the door closed so that drafts or animals won't disturb it.

And now that you've directed your energy towards your goal, you must be aware! Watch for opportunities to meet people, go out, be with people, your intended love will be there but it's unlikely that they'll come to your door and knock.
